I didn't think of this when I first looked at this but looking at it again I have to say that I think you can push the depth further by upping the saturation/contrast in the foreground. Also maybe include some more of the blobby grass stuff elsewhere in the landscape to make it seem more like a natural part of the vegetation in this snail world. Also maybe some windows or designs on the snail shells that mimic the style of the design on his shirt to make the piece more interesting. Overall though, good sense of surreal atmosphere and color.
